Taiwanese fire dancer Yang Li-wei recently appeared on the popular TV show Britain’s Got Talent and earned praise from all four judges. During her five-minute performance, she amazed both the judges and the audience with a series of daring fire stunts. She first lit a fire pot with a torch and swallowed its flames before spinning the blazing pot with her feet. Next, she spun a square table with flames rising from its four legs at high speed using her feet while handling fire fans in both hands.

Yang’s journey in the performing arts began at the age of 10, when she entered the National Taiwan College of Performing Arts. There, she was impressed by senior students performing footwork routines and decided to learn the rare skill herself. Although Yang had previously failed to advance on Asia’s Got Talent, her performance this time was a success. She said she hopes “the warmth of the fire from Taiwan will light up the world.”
