本書使用方法

首先，必須澄清一個概念: 對於背單詞而言，方法沒那麼重要。但其實背單詞的本質就是記憶，而記憶的本質是重複。一些所謂的「記憶技巧」或許會讓記憶的效率有些許的改善，但重複必要的次數、投入足夠的時間，永遠是背誦並掌握單詞的必由之路。

試想，當你因為厭倦了「從A到Z」的單詞排列而無法記下所有單詞時，難道換成「從Z到A」或者「亂序排列」就能飛快地記下所有單詞嗎？顯然不會。因此，我們要有「back to the basic」的能力，要有能看到事物本質的思考方式。我們還要意識到，有時實現目標靠的不僅是方法、技巧，而且還有勤奮、努力。背單詞，亦是如此。

為了幫助大家高效地使用本書，並在最短時間內提升單詞記憶效果，我想分享以下五點方法和建議。

一、短時集中突破

根據記憶心理學家的研究結果，正常情況下每個人每天可以背誦30個新單詞，而在有強烈意志力支撐的情況下，最多可以背誦大約60個新單詞。而我們建議大家每天背誦本書中的90個單詞，且本書收錄的托福口語核心單字均配有衍生詞、近義詞和考古題例句，能夠幫助大家提高背誦效率。

每天背誦90個新單詞看似不可能，實則沒有那麼困難。如果每天背誦90個新單詞，8天可以背完全書；如果每天背誦30個新單詞，24天才能完成，其實更累。

無論做任何事情，努力往往比智力更重要。在一個固定時間段內，提高單位時間的投入會帶來更高效的整體產出，這正是高手們實現「速成」的「捷徑」。這種突破自己的精神也將成為你終身受益的精神財富。

二、背誦結合聽音

托福口語考試包含閱讀和聽力，這就要求我們不僅能夠讀懂，還要能夠聽懂。這意味著，我們需要在聽到單詞的同時，能夠列舉出其對應的意思，並快速理解，從而順利作答。

因此，大家在背詞過程中一定要重視「聽音」的訓練。對於發音不確定或者自認為有難度的單詞，一定要即時精聽單詞的發音，並且跟讀直至牢記。大家可以使用一些輕便的電子詞典，也可以使用「豆腐托福」團隊精心開發的微信小程式——「托福口語黃金800詞」，進行聽音訓練。

三、讀懂考古題例句

本書中收錄的核心單字均配有托福口語的考古題例句。大家一定要讀懂例句，掌握核心詞在考古題中的詞義和用法。為了讓大家主動讀懂例句，我們有意地去掉了例句的中文翻譯。

四、儲備同義單字

很多時候，大家在回答題目時會出現卡頓的現象。這是因為突然忘記了要說什麼，或者忘記了對應的單詞。而解決這一問題的一個有效辦法就是，儲備足夠的同義詞。

比如，當我們想表達「敏銳的」的時候，如果我們忘記了「acute」，我們可以用「pointedly」或「sharply」來表達。有了更多的同義單字儲備，會大大提升表達的流暢度。

五、檢測背詞效果

背誦單詞之後，檢測效果的環節必不可少。但是，與很多單字書不同，我們並沒有在每個word list之後設計練習。因為背完單詞大家一般都會做一些練習題目，這自然會考查到對詞義的理解和反應。對於口語來講，在理解的前提下說出單詞，才是最有效、最有意義的練習。大家可以遵循以下步驟來檢測自己的背詞效果:

第一步，看英文單詞，並在1-2秒內想到對應的中文含義；第二步，看中文含義，並在1-2秒內想到對應的英文單詞；第三步，聽單詞的英文發音，並在1-2秒內想到對應的英文單詞。完成這三步，大家對單詞的掌握和理解應該會比較到位了。

本書體例說明

本書收錄的均是托福口語考試中的必考單字，可作為高效理解並回答托福口語題目的基礎。全書的體例編排如下:

一、單字

本書僅收錄托福口語考古題中的核心必考單字，並已排除了不影響理解的專業單字以及不影響表達的偏難單字，以減輕大家的備考負擔。

二、音標

為了更好地幫助大家聽懂並理解托福口語中的美式發音，本書普遍使用美式音標，如單詞「component」的美音音標是[kəm’poʊnənt]。

三、中文釋義

每個單詞均配有其在托福口語考試中的核心詞義和詞性。

四、近義詞

針對每一個可能會有表達難度的單詞，本書列出了其主要的近義詞。第一，大家能透過近義詞更好地記憶單詞詞義；第二，當大家在表達遇到困難或者卡頓時，可以透過近義詞快速想起替代表達，從而更加流暢、高效地作答。

托福口語考古題中的必考單字和核心詞義在形式和考查點方面一直在逐步演化。在羅列出全部核心單字的同時，我們收錄了重點單詞的衍生詞，使口語備考更加全面，單字儲備更加豐富。

六、考古題例句
