「攀岩傳奇」艾力克斯．霍諾德赤手征服台北 101

American climber Alex Honnold successfully scaled Taipei 101 without any safety equipment in January 2026. Hundreds of spectators gathered at the base of the building to watch Honnold begin his climbing of the 101-story glass-and-steel skyscraper, while as many as 6.2 million viewers tuned in to the live broadcast on Netflix. After about 90 minutes, Honnold reached the metal spire of the building at a height of 508 meters, completing the daring urban climb.

Honnold is known as the first person to free solo El Capitan, a sheer cliff in California’s Yosemite National Park. This achievement was documented in the award-winning film Free Solo. Although he had long dreamed of climbing Taipei 101, the plan only became possible after he received approval from the building’s management and the Taipei City Government. The climb marked another milestone in Honnold’s career and confirmed Taipei 101’s status as a globally recognized landmark.
